Upcycle Africa
"Waste is not waste untill you waste it"
Upcycle Africa Up-cycle Africa protect the environment and promote innovative mind-set while empowering youth. Through up-cycling plastic bottles we train our local communities in Uganda especially the disadvantaged youth to protect the environment. Bottles replaces environmentally unfriendly bricks, which are burnt for days promoting deforestation. Bottles are collected and compacted with soil, making the houses very cost effective and affordable. Furthermore, the buildings are strong, buffer heat and are earthquake resistant

Kimuli Fashionability
"Fashion Beyind Barriers"
Kimuli Fashionability creates up-cycled fashion and increases on the employability of the deaf and physically handicapped persons through training them free hands on skills of creative tailoring. Training them with creative tailoring skills turns their disability into an opportunity of creating their own employment while saving the environment from plastic waste accumulation. African fabrics are blended with waste materials. In the absence of hearing, deaf people for example often have heightened kinesthetic and visual abilities resulting in high quality products with love for detail. . Many of their peers are seen as cursed or bewitched by Ugandan society and often kept indoors due to shame of the family because of their disability. This is why our sensitization programs in schools and fashion shows creates awareness to thousands to change their perception of disability, as well as waste. With our slogan “waste is only waste if you waste it”, we also sensitize Ugandans to see waste differently: It is Kimuli’s greatest resource and we inspire others to start small and grow big through up-cycling initiatives.

We visit marginalized communities, train and equip women and youth with skills of making use of the old and waste papers to come up with different products.

Tech for community
"Computer skills for all"
The training targets village women, youths and retired officers who never had opportunities to acquire computer skills. These adults require special intensives including special handling and adult-learner oriented approach to motivate them in their learning. Understandably, adult learners pose unique challenges ranging from home/family responsibilities besides others. Youths mainly face serious financial challenges hence low self-drive despite their high interest in the course. Our program bridges the digital gap by availing opportunities to the disadvantaged rural communities’ access basic computer skills. The course combines the 8 modules including Concepts of Information Technology, Using the Computer and Managing Files, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Presentations, Information Technologies and Communication Technologies.
